don't worry, it's nothing really. she was just having cramps. be prepared, carry some pads in your locker or bookbag. i got it in the summertime, i was 10. now, im 12 and i carry pads in my bookbag. ive started a protection plan for some of my friends who also have their period, they carry 4 pads around and if 1 of us needs 1, we say, "help" or this is really funny- sometimes we say "patty's here" and if she needs a pad, we give it to her

there is NO exact age at which a girl gets her period, every girl's body is different. your young, you still have time. if you don't get your period by the time your 16, that's the time when you should start to worry. until then, ENJOY the time that your period-free.
i wish periods didn't exist...they have HORRIBLE timing.
the stomach pain was most likely menstrual cramps. they're completely normal....they can be calmed by taking a Midol, or Pamprin, or an Advil.
When you do have your period, carry pads or tampons in your backpack or place them in your locker.
start marking on your calendar on which day u got your period, and then track it. and mark on your calendar when you started and when u ended.
it's a good idea to keep track, that way, u can sort of prepare and you'll know when your next period is coming. it'll take about a few months to notice a pattern.
but don't worry, you have plenty of time to get your period. keep talking with your mother or an older sister, or female cousin....they've been through this.
take care.

Got my first period at 12 1/2. To manage the situation I'm sure that you carry a purse already but it would be wise to start carrying a pad or two with you in case you are not at home when you get it.

Don't worry u r still young enough, i met this girl that had her first period at 17, i got mine at 13, so u r in a normal age, if your sister got hers at 12 maybe u will too, but don't worry isn't that bad and if u have some cramps u can drink a Motrim and u'll be OK.

Well...it all depends upon each girl...how her body is also heriditary is another fact. I got mine first when I was 11, and I got very good guidance from mom. It's nothing to worry abt...just realize that u became a woman. Will be ok if thr r no pain. Ur mom wud be ur best friend in all these issues.

u might as well not be worried about it, because its natural. just do as the others said and carry around pads and take pain relievers. in my case, as for the cramping and stomach pain, pain relievers didnt work. so i was confined to warm tea and rolled into a ball on my bed for the duration, which meant no school for me. but for most girls, the cramps are mild and subside within days

my period came when i was 13 full on and powerful i had to learn to use tampax and i was freaked out by the blood but like everything in life you get use to it, matter of having to.
when i was young it lasted a full week.
now a little less -it is a really inconsiderate event in your monthly agenda but you manage and learn to work around things...,,,
