Depending on the speed of your computer and interent connection it may slow down the speed at which it copies or browsies but you can do both if you want. It wont effect the quality, just the speed.

Depends on your machine. If you have a low end computer it is not advisable to use it while burning a dvd. Otherwise, it's ok. It would be best however to avoid I/O operations (file accessing and copying) on drives that share a slot with your DVD Writer.

It depends on what you are doing. I sometimes get errors while burning CDs or DVDs if I do something that will hog a lot of CPU processing time.

Yes use Nero and just shrink the page it will work away in the background while you carry on on the net doing your thing
