You should re-ask this with details, like an immediate crisis, such as on a busy freeway and you hit a slick (oil, ice, whatever) spot doing 70 mph? That is a crisis.

Survival in the wilderness after a plane crash.

Checking account balance less the 2 bucks in not a crisis.

Bingo!

Yes, I would definitely trust myself in a crisis. I think that is part of my inner issues. I can't do anything without planning for a crisis. I always play devil's advocate. What would happen if..........???

So I plan ahead. I'll do this if.......I can do that if. I get on a plane and survey the people and see who would need help first and who could be strong enough to help and who would deter me. (Yes.......I know that is phobic! I said I have issues. lol)

I am driving down the road thinking how I'm going to handle it when that tractor trailer weaves over and smashes my little car.

I know it sounds phobic........but no matter where I am, I walk in and survey the place. (ok don't worry......after answering this I'm so going to run to the asylum and have myself committed)

So when something happens, its like I don't go in panic mode because usually what happens is less than the worst I imagine, so I rise to the occasion and solve said crisis.

The thing is.......I trust myself in a crisis cause I know how phobic I am. I just am not able to trust others. (ok I need to hurry here.......the men are putting the straight jacket on me as we speak). I know what I can handle..........I just never know what the people around me can handle......and if I can depend on them. (Ok they are dragging me away..........I'll see you in 2-4 years)

No. Not unless it's a crisis similar to one I've been through. I've never had a gun to my head so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't act in my and everyone's best interest in that situation but I think I would act okay in a car wreck because now I know not to be surprised when an airbag slams me in the face at 200 miles an hour.

I LIVE in crisis. My life is in upheaval this very minute. I don't know how it would be NOT to have a crisis. I am pretty level-headed in an emergency. I've seen horrors and still rely on humor to get me through. If it gets bad enough, then EVERYTHING has a hilarious side.

Absolutely yes. I'm at my best and most fired-up in a crisis - it's why I falsely engineer panic deadlines at work, to get the best out of myself. In a slump or a quiet Sunday afternoon, I wouldn't trust myself as far as I could spit, but in a crisis, I'm your huckleberry.

Crisis? What Crisis?

I'd probably run in terror or fall in a catatonic state in a MAJOR crisis. With a normal, more everyday crisis, I would trust myself.

If I need a witty reply - no. I'm lost for words. In action - I jump to the rescue before I start thinking, sometimes into really dangerous situations, so I can't trust myself here either.

I know I trust me in a crisis.
If you can't trust yourself then who the heck can you trust.
Fainting and panicking are for after when you can look back and say "oh my freaking god!!!!".
