he leans on you because he thinks you are the most awesome amazing wonderful smart clever talented being he's ever laid eyes on and he craves your attention and love. i'm not kidding. i know because i have two kids and i know because of my own and my parents experiences.
did you see recently there's a flurry of research in the news on the powerful influence siblings have over each other's lives? it's a big responsiblity, and to a kid it can feel like a burden sometimes, but i encourage you to relax, lose the expectation that you should be in peace and in control all the time, really get to know him, and lead him well.
you don't have to lead with words - you've been leading with actions since he first laid eyes on you. please be good to him - respect the awesome power you have over his self-image. have fun and yet help him grow to be the best man he can be. certainly both your adulthoods will be greatly enhanced by that - not only in that he won't be screwing up and draining your time and finances - but in that you will be true friends with one of the only other people on the planet to have been where you've been - your mother's womb.
