Why are the men in sitcoms or on TV portrayed as idiots while the wives are portrayed at saints? Are men really this dumb? Do real women think men are really this dumb? Do women really enjoy seeing men treated this way? I watch TV and want to beat my head against the wall because men (in my opinion) are not this dumb and women are not saints (no slam on women meant here). Men and women are just "normal" with different and individual quirks. Please don't think I am saying men are better than woman. I am just saying men and women are about the same except on TV.
Example from TV would be like Everyone Loves Raymond (wife is always pissed at Raymond because he is so "dumb"). I actually can't stand the actress that plays Raymond's wife because she is such a wench to him in the series.

how many times have u heard the saying.. Happy wife, Happy Life??????? or the key to a happy marriage is to always say "yes , dear"... and how many of these tv sitcom people do u see getting a divorce??????? hummmmmmm maybe their on to something lol.. Remember its only TV.. and how would the world react to a woman being slammed like the husbands get slammed on the shows... The earlier years of the show Rosanne was probably the closest Tv has ever come to "real" life relationships and people.. and remember as ticked as it makes u that the men always come off looking stupid.. think for agessssssssss and still to this day.. Blonde women tv and in real life are casted as Dumb.... so it does happen to women too just differently..

That is why they are called sitcoms, because they what them to be funny and different from our day to day lives. It also depends on wht p[rogram you are watching some are the opposite of everybody loves Raymond, But some are the same and some time men can be a little dumb when it comes to the household stuff.

Times are changing if you look at television shows they had in the past it was always the women who were dumb and the men level headed. Look at I Love Lucy dumb read head and her husband was the one who told her what she did was not right. They have to find something to make the show funny other wise it would be a drama.

I understand what you're asserting. "Raymond" is an fool. If i grow to be a guy i could be incredibly pissed on the way men are portrayed on television. 3 and a a million/2 men is yet another one. Are all of you pigs prepared to cheat given which you're on the excellent mercy of your ****'s? guess no longer. it incredibly is conventional to slam men this decade. interior the 70's the infants ran the living house and the two mothers and fathers have been clueless. (Brady bunch?) women folk wrote to the networks and yelled. each time I observed a mom on television portrayed as a clueless moron who had no theory what her teenagers have been as much as on a similar time as she "extremely joyful that guy of mine" I wrote a letter. perhaps men ought to attempt that.

what's on TV is there because is ENTERTAINING!
and sponsors are willing to spend money on what the think works
The white guy is dumb mythos of TV is empowering to everyone else
As a white guy, I can laugh a the characters because I realize no matter what the situation I could never be that dumb and get away with it
My ultimate favorite dumb TV guy is Al Bundy

because they r.. most men anyway.. the uptight ones usually just don't pay the wife and kids any attn.. but my bf i swear he reminds me of all the shows... he thinks there hysterical and so do i.. he's smart but sometimes he just does some dumb behind stuff..
what about when women r portrayed as dumb, or like whores, or how they have them dressing sexy all the time w/their breast out, but hanging out the shorts, dresses to short.. what about that??
it's tv, that's what it is... if it wasn't amusing we wouldn't be watching
