Fact is not a part of the American Culture only Bullshit is. They have a belief that they won the world war single-handedly and will gloss over anything in their favor. Facts figures and knowledge do not come into it, they are only small details in a culture with little intelligence and large sums of money. Money and profit are the only things that mean anything to the majority of Americans

You mean, it isn't all about us? How strange!
We Americans are ego-centric - everything is bigger, better, more important here than anywhere else in the world - at least in our eyes. I don't agree with that, but most Americans are that way. That's why you get the silly and rude American tourists asking ridiculous questions.
But the rest of the world agrees with that to some extent. A lot of people want to visit and/or move here, many countries around the world watch our movies and tv shows, eat our fast food, drink our Starbucks, want us to make their countries better (but also wants us to stay out of world politics at the same time - you can't have it both ways). So the rest of the world feeds that ego-centrism.
If the rest of the world ignored us, that probably wouldn't change. However, since the rest of the world seemingly validates what we already think about ourselves, no one should be surprised by how we act.
In regards to the foiled hijacking plans, the planes were US-bound. Why hijack a plane and then just blow it up over the Atlantic en route? If it's inspiring true terror that they're after, that doesn't really cut it.

Because everyone on the planet seems to be mad at, or hates, Americans. Some of the planes were scheduled to fly into New York, Washington DC, and to California. Everyone is mad at us, so some Americans assume that the targets would be the US.

I'm not saying that those planes were going into American buildings, but, other than British passengers(our allies God bless them), it is hard to see how terrorists booked on all American-owned airliners headed for America--probably with a decent number of Americans--are not trying to make a statement to America. you don't have to read between the lines for that one.

Given that the airplanes were ALL bound for the United States, it is reasonable to assume that a large number of Americans were on board. And, since Airplanes and explosives were involved, it is natural to be reminded of 9/11 and speculate as to "what if?". So, not "stupid" - maybe just a little paranoid.
Congrats and thanks to the Brits and any other country involved in foiling this plot!

Because when you turn on the news on any given day, on any channel, there is someone in some country burning an American flag and holding a sign that says "Death to Americans". That's why.
FYI, Paulo, the word ou're looking for is "ethnocentricity."

I think it was all about US, as in USA and UK, and every other freedom-loving country in the world.
I believe they wanted to kill UK and other tourists and also Americans returning home.
If they had not been caught, 3000 innocent citizens from around the world, man, woman, and child, would have perished.
We're all in this together, ol' chap, someone just needs to convince France.

because it's how they are. they cant see things our way, and their stupidity gets the better of them. every time they start a war, they always think that they're next. that's why australians are much smarter than them, although these days australia is trying to copy america. if they (the americans) keep saying sh** like that and continue acting the way they do, they're most likely gonna get it bad, mayb worse than 9/11. they just seem to think that nothing else matters but themselves. they forget about the rest of the world and focuses on their issues. instead of looking at the rest of the world and trying to help, they only seem to care about themselves and create more and more problems for themselves.

We tend to be pretty short-sighted. We forget there is a great big world out there that doesn't revolve around us. Very little of our news even talks about world events, and we learn American history in school, not world history. And since 9/11, people here have gotten very gun-shy, and since that cowboy in the White House is always talking about "Homeland" security, not worldwide security, people tend to focus on that.
