ok go to the desktop just look at it ,now the items you see there right click on one you don't want and then click delete .
and continue to right click all the ones you don't want.
why r u going in sub menus when just being on the desktop gives you access to the icon you do not want.
Hope you try this and go doh J/k
oh an other way is drag the icons from the desktop and drag to the trash bin.

I'm assuming these "items" are images you want removed? Check in c:\windows and in you My Documents/My Pictures folders. Otherwise if you cannot find them that way, write down the names as you see them, right click on My Computer, select Search and type in the names and let the system find them for you.
The files are likely with a .BMP or .JPG extension. You can delete any you find, including the ones that came with Windows.

These are just the wallpaper options for your screen. The ones that came with Windows you cannot get rid of. If you downloaded any they should be listed in add/remove programs and you can delete them from there.

click Ctrl+Alt+Delete and turn on pastime manager. once you've opened pastime manager, click the applications tab, and on the bottom-left you'll hit upon a button "new pastime", click it and variety "rstrui.exe" contained in the hot window and click ok. once you've administrative rights on your laptop, equipment fix might want to run, that is okay to close pastime manager now.
