god is not made in a single day neither his authority vanishes in single day.
sachin is god and he earned this status by playing so well for all these years. no doubt he is not a same sachin of yesteryears but still his performance is better than many many well established young cricketers of this era.oppositions r still afraid of sachin. oppositions still make new and special plans 2 get sachin out in almost each n every match . wat more u can ask 4. after playing 4 more than 16 years , still teams r clueless abt his batting technique. just like bradman and richards r considered as all time gods. sachin is also in d same list.
so sachin is still a god. as far as no 1 of tommorow is asked. god is one. b it a hindu god, a muslim god,a christian god etc. , so no point in determining d ranks of best of d best. all time greats r all greats so no rankings among them.

excuse me sachins highest rank was 7th it shows he at his best wasnt at the top and now he is old he cant even play and ur talking about playing well as u can see batsmen like ponting rahul inzi yusof yunis jayawardne lara are getting a bit too smarter so he is going behing he is currently at 27th he was at 21 a month before
and he will retire soon b4 world cup he says that he is waiting for world cup but he is old now

As a batsmen I am not sure. But as a complete cricketer there is no one currently who can challenge him for the top spot.

HE WAS LEADING IN THE RACE.
BUT HE SPENT TOO MANY TIME AT SERVICE 'PIT' AREA.
SO THAT, MANY DRIVERS (PLAYERS) OVER-TOOK HIM.
ITS VERY TOUGH TO GET PAST THEM.
