If the 32yo doesn't teach the 22yo then I doubt that there are any Teaching regulations being infringed. They are both over the age of consent so what they get up to is their own business.

So, yes, it is okay.

We the surfers of cyber world meet with so many people every day. Surfing the net is the best pastime one can ever develop, as internet has the most knowledge, a surfer will never have to wait for a answer. The vast knowledge of cyber world is nothing as compared to the cyber society that it gives. Internet is a community but so vast that we need a place to make conversation easy. What more can be better than a chat room for this purpose, well a chat room and a message board along with a forum is the best combination really. I was actually looking for a place where we can find all these things with a profile and photo brouse option. Finally I got this site, this place is a very nice community where we can share every thing online. And also about the leader board, I must tell it is great. The thought of the leader board is unique, as not to many people has thought about this thing. And the method of getting the leader is very different and one must check out this site once. The cyber culture is growing, and it is about time that we find our club and that to a very different club, which is not a part of any big website house like the yahoo and google. This site am talking about has every thing that a cyber surfer ever wants. This is the website address, http://www.friendscyberclub.com/ Features of this site is: 1) chatting 2) view profiles and photos 3) upload your photos and make a cool profile. 4) your message board 5) forum 6) See your name on the leader board. There are also many more features available in the site, free to join.

I agree with Mellexical. I too am a college teacher and believe a professor should not meddle with ANY student. The teacher is simply asking for all kinds of trouble, though for the customer (sorry, I mean the student) it is not a problem at all...

The best thing to do is to wait until the student has graduated or otherwise left the university and then see how the two people feel about each other. I know that is not a realistic scenario, but if the teacher would propose this to the student, and demand it, the teacher would probably discover that he is just being used like a customer service rep.

I think it is definitely okay for age. Nothing wrong with a younger person with someone older.

If the student is in the teachers class it might not be the best idea but i don't see a huge problem with it as long as it doesn't get in the way of the students learning or the educators ability to teach.

And last i think it is better that the student initiated the relationship because then the teacher isn't abusing the student with his power or something else like that.

Have fun!

If there's any policy issues at said university, it's probably going to effect the 32 yo more. 22 yo should be very understanding if the relationship is going to jeapordize the older person's job. That aside, as long as 32 yo isn't teaching any classes the 22 yo is going to need to take...shouldn't be a problem.

The age issue, without the student-teacher issues, is definitely not a "bad" thing. There might be some issues involved that wouldn't pop up in other relationships, but if you can navigate those then there's no problem.

I think the potential for trouble is not worth the risk.
I have no problem with the age difference that is not the problem at all but the problem is that the balance of power will not be equal till the student is not a student at that time then a relationship is A-OK if the student where in the relationship prior to being a student that that would be OK too. I know that makes no sense but to me it is OK because the disparity didn't exist at the start of the relationship.
It makes no difference who initiated it, it is still an unequal relationship.
This is what I like about being a g0y equality is paramount to any relationship that is inherently g0y.

Personally and professionally (I am a college teacher) I think dating a student is unethical and unprofessional, even if they are over 21 and even if they are not currently in any of your classes. Power differences due to role of teacher, boundary issues, role conflict, big potential for teacher to get in trouble!

(He may not be your professor now, but does that mean you can never take any of his classes? Maybe if he is in a totally, absolutely different department that you will never take any classes in, but that seems unlikely.)

I have more difficulty with that than with the age difference -- which would be an issue but not necessarily a problem and certainly not wrong. I like an age difference myself, no big deal.

So whats the problem ? There is nothing wrong with someone 22 dating a man who is 32 the age difference is only 10 yrs. I can't see a problem unless the two of them have a problem . My boy friend is 17 years younger than I am and we are very happy and have a great relationship .

Have at it, guys! The age difference is only an issue if you make it one. If the university does not have a policy forbidding fraternization with students, then there is no problem. In my opinion there is only a problem if the teacher teaches the student he's dating.

Is the 32 year old teaching a class the 22 year old is taking? Check out the university policy. Besides that, there is nothing wrong. Age is just a number.
