I like the fact that our technology seemed more advanced than today. It was not however, but seeing how I was merely 5 when the 80's ended, that was the opinion I had. We sent off way more space missions, way more movies, books, and games were sci-fi oriented, the music had started sounding very futuristic, the computer age was just coming about, and the thoughts of the year 2000 were present in most people's minds. The 80's for me seemed like a very future oriented society, one of rapid progress. And it was, even more so than today. Also, the economy was going absolutely crazy. It suddenly became easy to make a million overnight. The Polo brand was roaring. Preppy was in and I think the metrosexual revolution got its roots from the 80's. Greed and luxury were everywhere, and these weren't necessarily bad things. They were the reasons for our society moving and advancing so rapidly. I love nearly everything about the 80's and would give anything to travel back in time then. Reagan, Nintendo, Prince, Polo, Star Wars... all these things had an enormous presence in the 80's and I loved all of them.

I liked the fact that I was a teenager and was completely oblivious to how the world was outside of my home and circle of friends. Reality bites LOL

Fashion was hideous, hairstyles were just plain spooky but the music and movies rocked. Life was sooooo much simpler before Internet, the Gulf War and Sunday family dinners still were roast beef with all the trimmings and attended by everyone at the kitchen / dining room table.

I went to high school and college in the 80s. I liked a lot of the music and have built-up my ipod library with many of my favs. Music wasn't as profane as it is now. Some of my favorite comedy movies were back then. Silly things like Caddyshack, Sixteen Candles etc. I liked the clothes. I can't believe we wore our hair like that.

I loved the music, especially New Wave and early rap artists like Run DMC and Whodini. I loved TV back then, especially Knight Rider, Misfits of Science, Whiz Kids, Airwolf, and Simon & Simon.

I despised being a slave to fashion! High School was nothing but one big "Ha ha, you don't have OP, you don't have Vans, you don't have blah blah..." "Shut the heck up, damnit, I'm poor!"

I loved having my Commodore 64 and being one of the FEW people "online" in the 80's, using Compuserve, BBS's, and Quantum Link (AOL before it sucked.)

I liked watching the children grow, and I loved all those big haired women, still do it's a Texas thing I guess! The world was just less crowded and an easier place to live back then.

I didn't like the hip hop and rap that came out then, and I still don't.

Everything about the 80's rocked! I get quite nostalgic thinking about it. Was a fun time in my life and I miss it a great deal. Things were a lot more simple.

The way High-tech styling started to develope into the forms we know.
And the sort of ideas it put in my head
The dancing styles from the Bronx (not especially Breakdancing)
Some of the kind of things i wanted to try and achieve
Some of the best adverts i saw on English T.V (Not with jokes)
The dancing style of a girl who took me out (only just 80s)
Certain pieces of Art I saw travelling around studios
The best learning time for me (Maybe 70s as well)
Having the seeds of an Art style begin in my mind and then develope into something I felt more pleased with than Ive felt with almost anything.
Starting off with more optimism than i thought i would ever have.
Ending with more desolation than i thought i would have.
