I am from the Netherlands, and Germans are the neighbors of my country. Just like everywhere, there are a lot of good and bad people living there.
If I would have to make a generalization, it would be that the German culture is kinda 'stiff'. If they have a party (again, generalizing, and it's mainly the older folks), they have these huge tables where they sit at, eating sausages and drinking huge glasses of beer, but it's all so stiff!

Ah yeah, and a lot of older Germans love horrible music (IMHO), schlager it is called. But then I have to admit that there are a lot of people in my country too who love this music.

Anyway, most Germans I know are just very nice normal people like everywhere. The youth have to stand up to a lot of jokes and discrimination about them (don't mention the war haha), and most of them are dealing very well with it. The country still suffers from guilt. Most people don't understand that a lot f Germans where forced into the war and really didn't want to have anything to do with Nazism.
I think that the German culture is doing very fine after the war. They are very liberal minded in their politics and the way they deal with environmental issues.

i have been to a couple of countries. The best one i have been to was germany. i went out on the town and got lost. i asked someone to help me find my hotel. Not only did they drive me to it, but they also invited me and my famly to dinner at thier home. That was 10 years ago. We are now great friends and this sept they are coming to the USA to visit us.

For the most part they are very nice people. A lot more hospitable than Americans. I was stationed there for 3 years.
