Massage therapy is very beneficial to health and I am a firm believer in it. On the other hand, it is expensive so I seldom get a massage. I also know quite a few people trained in massage therapy who are not working in that field now. Not enough work to make a living.
If you become a massage therapist it is up to you to sell yourself. It takes a lot of determination.

Where do you live? Some states are better than others. You can make a good living doing it but I imagine that is not why most of us get into it. If you want to get really rich, you'll need to either own a chain of massage places or work in some other field.
OTH, I *love* the work I do. I help people look in the mirror and see their own power, their own passions and love. Sounds woo woo and it is for the society at large. And the society at large is very hungry and thirsty for just that.
You need to decide if you want to work for yourself or as an employee, both have their ups and downs. Give us more details on where/who/what you are and maybe we can help you more.

Depending on where you live.
One of the resorts in the neighboring town, has one on call, he makes a great living & only works a few days a week.
There is another one that just makes house calls, he is doing really well also.
It just depends on the clientele you develope.
Good Luck.

It's very lucrative if you want to be one and it really does help. You just have to make sure you go to a reliable school or go to a therapist that went to one.
