It depends on the state, where i live the 7 years seperation thing isn' in effect anymore. But it's possible that some states still have it. The best way is to just go through it legally and get divorced.

No, you have to have a court paper telling you thatt you are divorced. Extended separations are cause for divorce and the court may grant a divorce under those grounds, but until the court sing the divorce decree, you are married.
Good luck

no you are still married, but if his location is unknown then you can file a divorce and if you can not make contact with him in a certain amount of time, you can be legally divorced w/o having to go into a court room~*

I think that would depend on the state.
Where I live you're married until you're legally divorced.

actually probably not... if you are separated but never went through any trial to dissolute your marraige, then no. you must have a judge sign the divorce judgement. and the judge should have the proper authority to issue such judgement over the matter

Unless a court grants you a decree stating that you are divorced, you are still married.

no, it's easier to get one if you've been separated for a while, but you are not legally divorced until you ACTUALLY get divorced
( well, in N.Y. anyway )
