You will need a public (Static IP Address) in order to gain access to the FTP server via outside location...

Once you get a server/computer with this type of access. You can either use IIS 6.0 and configure windows version of FTP(Crappy) or you can use a Linux box and just configure the FTP access. Or you can just install Serv-U FTP on a windows machine and control everything right there..

Serv-U FTP is the one i use and its great.....Give it a try pretty cheap or just DL it off eMule

Writing a file transfer protocol server is a nightmare - do not attempt to reinvent the wheel.

If you are asking whether you need a FTP server - then you surely do not have the skills to make a server.

Buy one, steal one or get a freebie, but do not attempt to make your own server - it is not an easy task!

Ok. Any other plans you'd like to share with us?

Ps. Asking *a question* would be nice next time.
