I have read a few questions on here about the recent foiled bomb attacks and seen people post some nasty things about pakistani people and that whites are the imperial race. The world is already out of control - why not try to help find a solution instead of add to it?

Humbugsmum made a good point - who is really all one race? We are all mixed in someway - so we should embrace each other more. At the end of the day we all bleed the same.

I know, it is really sickening. I can only assume that I witness more racism and bigotry on this site than I do in my every day life because the people who post these questions are cowards who use the anonymity of this system to voice there views. And do they not understand that hardly any "English" person in this country is completely English? Over the centuries we have been invaded by the Vikings, Romans, Normans... even quite a few Spaniards ended up here after the Armada. A collection of cultures is what I think makes Great Britain great.

Racism has been around forever. You aren't going to change people's attitudes overnight. But fewer people are racists after they get an education and grow up. Then they realize that the word "race" doesn't mean much of anything. Ask a social scientist. It's _ethnicity_ we have plenty of.
If anyone tells you that whites are the imperial race, say to him, "Just take a look at George Bush or Mel Gibson or Pat Robertson."
Muslims? Well, most of them are _not_ terrorists, are they? Just a few. And do we have Christian terrorists? Darn right we do! They just work in different ways from most Muslim terrorists.

Let us stand back from political correstness and racism. There are basic differences between ethnic groups and societies. The human race seems to be generally xenophobic, and I think it is very difficult to get away from this. It is also a fact that some societies are simply backward. It is not acceptable for Iran to stone adulteress women to death, backed up by the rather flimsy defence of 'the koran'.
A better question would be 'why are people so uptight about racism?'. I have a sneaking suspicion that I am repressed, and not simply 'not a racist'.

Haven't you noticed that most of the racial comments/questions entered here are always misspelled? That alone should tell you who only went to school for the free lunch! It is evident those who graduated and those who only received a 5th grade education!
Don't waste your intelligence on questions such as this! The world is full of hatred and indifference! Do not allow the ignorance of others the chance to rent space in your head! If you do not like what some people are posting, just ignore it. Not everyone on here is unhappy with the mess in their lives so much that they have to take it out on others. Try and have a great day Ms. Dee, and save your answers for those who really value them!!!!!!

I hat the way that when this sort of thing happens there is alot of racial abuse. It really gets my goat! I know that various races have to live with a lot of prejudice and abuse and I have even experienced some of this over the last couple of weeks due to being with some Pakistani British people and felt it was utterly disgusting, I was so proud of the fact that they just brushed it off and did nothing in retaliation!

These terrorists are individuals and are not representing ony one race or nationality.

I think that hate tends to be reciprocated. For example if a Muslim rails and rants against white people and the West there will be a backlash and some white people may being hating muslims. Events like 7/7 ARE gong to cause resentment, I'm sorry but thats just human nature!!! Its sadly a two way thing and its sometimes hard to argue which came first - the chicken or the egg.

regrettably no. it rather is been suppress with the appliance of political correctness. There are human beings that are actually not racist--i'm not a racist--yet there are alot of folk who're, even regardless of if that's suppressed. the factor is that folk know what they might desire to think of and could do and could say yet few of them somewhat have faith interior the values that they "ought to" have faith in. There are some human beings, on the different hand, that don't cover their emotions in any respect and are particularly brazenly racist. the different factor is that given a cataclysmic experience, whilst push includes shove and people are thrown back to their baser instincts, i'm particularly confident that alot of folk will replace into extra brazenly racist. noticeably in the event that they're threatened and might desire to come across a hardship-unfastened enemy to unify together against. this entire thought that this era is extra psychological and extra tolerant and extra accepting of alternative races and extra unified is romanticized nonsense, in my opinion. that's common to be completely liberal whilst there isn't something urgent from the exterior, yet as quickly by using fact the stress comes you watch how lots of those liberals will directly revert to not hardship-free superb suited facists if it ability protection and freedom from concern tl;dr: Political correctness has its foot on the top of the subdued, yet not completely destroyed, monster that's racism.

It is unfortunate the turn of evens... i think at the moment in UK and u.s. anyone deemed non white is looked in suspicion...

I understand there is a massive culture divide going on... but given if the enemy is within, then why?

What we have is people whom live and work in the u.k. born here, and yet they feel the urge to destroy the very people whom have allowed there principles to be adopted by the nation. this even though i am a Peace Person find very disturbing. If i was to move say to Pakistan, i would be expected to conform to a national and religious standard, more or less... i suppose i would have to do this out of respect... respect is the key word here, it is very hard to respect people if they are disrespectful to you!

This problem is on every continent...

The problem i personally have with this, is why the heck is someone trying to force feed me religious nonsense, and want me to live in a religious state... erm sorry, remembering, being a peace lover also, i am still not going to accept someones distorted vision of the future... Jewish, Christian, Islam, or satanist... I want to live in a society of equal values, where laws are obeyed, and respect is given to all and sunder!

You see if I as a peace Lover can be a bit bemused by radical behaviour, and feel a little hard done too; as i want peace, i want to live next my nieghbour whom is Islamic... but i certainly do not want blowing up or anyone for that matter, just because i want freedom and liberty for all! then what of the people whom are not as forgiving as myself... this is how wars are created...

i understand the attraction of young men and women who want to justify taking lives because westerners or other middle east countries bomb there citizens... but then what we have is an ever increasing circle of hate... and revenge...

This eventually can spill into the streets wih racist attacks, culures clash and then you have a civil or internal war of factions.

I hope this could never happen, but it seems the world may be about to erupt... i feel that Peace is fast becoming, something that is impossible to bring about... and that is a crying shame...

All of us have had a pop at religion or people at some point in our lives... NOW I THINK IT ABOUT TIME TOO SAY>>> WE ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED| |OF OURSELVES!

Peace People... i do hope it is not too late!

what a good question and statement.. why indeed? sadly some people are so egocentric that they don't consider what they say before they say it, or consider the consequences of what they say on others.. thus war.. I think you will find many people want to find solutions, not all of us consider our selves the imperial race.. the solution is to get world leaders off their ego trips and try and get them to listen to each other and find common ground, sadly nations follow the examples of our leaders with out questioning the ethics of what has been said or done..

Why not try to find a solution? Because what might be acceptable for some people, might not be regarded as acceptable by others.
Put simply, too many people in this world want too many different things.
