You're probably looking for the contraction not abbreviation of I would. I'd is both the contraction of I would and I had. For instance you say

*** I'd rather have fish than meat. ( I would rather have.....)
*** I'd better see you next week. ( I had better ....)

A.D. is a Latin abbreviation for Anno Domini which translates to: "In the year of our Lord". It has been use for centuries and does NOT mean "after death' as some idiots think. Jesus' life lasted for roughly thirty three years and the calendar A.D. starts with the year of his birth.

Well, the word "would" by itself doesn't really have an abbreviation, unless you count the people who shorten it to "wld" in chat rooms and IM's. But, if you're asking about the contraction for the words "I would", it would be "I'd".
