If its the first time and your infection is longer than a few days this is perhaps you didn't use a condom. If he starts having it too both to the Doctor if you are under 16 explain to parents too.

bacterial infection is an infection caused by bacteria. The distinction is important because bacterial infections are often more serious than other types of infections, such as viral infections, and because bacterial infections can often be treated successfully with antibiotics.

Bacterial infections may follow a viral infection that does not improve, or an infection may begin as a bacterial infection. When a viral infection has been improving and then starts to get worse, or if a viral infection has lingered for 10 days or more, a bacterial infection may be present.

Bacterial infections usually affect a single area in the body, such as the sinuses, lungs, ears, or urinary tract. Common bacterial infections include sinusitis, strep throat, pneumonia, ear infections, and bladder infections. If untreated, a bacterial infection can spread to the bloodstream, a condition called bacteremia.
