There are intolerant, hateful people in all facets of life, politics and religion. The best way to combat that which you don't agree with is to be active to get your views heard and vote. I agree with Leogirl. The way I look at it is, that there isn't really more hate coming from the left. It's just that the hateful ones are louder.
It's like this: Not all Muslims are terrorists, but it's the terrorists that are worthy of the front page. Not all people of African descent are gang members and murderers, but they're certainly more newsworthy than the darker-skinned American who goes to college, graduates, and does well for themselves.
