Some of them are, some of them are not. I am (born and raised in Milan) but I live in the USA now, and here many people are of Italian descent but can't speak Italian well or can't speak it at all. It's not their fault though -- maybe they even speak English at home, or their parents' or grandparents' dialect. I guess some of Italy's supporters on Yahoo Answers fall into this category. After all, this is Yahoo Answers in English. There's also an Italian version of this site, and Italy's supporters living in Italy (those who speak Italian as a first language) are more likely to be using that one.

Some Italians speak in dialetto, which are basically dialects from their regions. Well, I'm pretty sure to that campione is singular in standard Italian, but in some dialetto it may not be the case.
Dialleto example
Anema e core (Napoli)= Soul and heart
Anima e cuore (Standard)= Soul and heart

I can't speak Italian properly because even though my country is full of Italians and half-Italians, we speak Spanish (in Argentina). LOL. That doesn't mean I don't support them.

Some Italians are of Italian descent, so that might explain why they may not speak Italian properly but it doesn't mean they're not Italians in their hearts.....they're just as fanatic as the Italians born in Italy, even more so. :-D

You don't necessarily have to be Italian or speak it for that matter. The important thing is that you support the team of your heart.
