Mr. Rotenberg pointed to Google’s own joust earlier this year with the Justice Department over a subpoena for some of its search data. The company successfully fended off the agency’s demand in court, but several other search companies, including AOL, complied. The Justice Department sought the information to help it defend a challenge to a law that is meant to shield children from sexually explicit material.

I have the thought that if I'm not doing anything illegal what's the big deal. For all that anyone knows phone taps and Internet tracking has been going on for as long as there has been an Internet and telephones. At least this time you're being informed that's it's happening.

How would you feel if someone were plotting to harm you and your loved ones and no body intervened. You'd be pissed wouldn't you? Some freedoms have to be relinquished so that lives can be saved and tghose that would harm us caught.

If the phone company can track your calls for their accounting puposes, why can't people understand that it's necessary to track all international calls for national security purposes? It's not like they're trying to see if you're breaking the law or making drug deals. There's a difference.
They're trying to catch terrorists and prevent another 911 inspite of what the libs and the UCLU are trying to snag Bush on.

Bush is an asshole. Be careful that he might be reelected somehow or his brother will be elected. Get the Bush's out of office. Our country is headed for a big down fall.

You know I don't care even if they tap the phones, the internet and scan my mail. As long as they catch those S.O.B's i'm willing to give up a little freedom. besides i live in a small town where every one already knows all my business so i'm used to it.

Don't worry, it's the Terrorists that hate Freedom loving countries. Just concentrate on them, whilst we restrict your REAL freedoms at home.
