For people not in the United States. How does the rest of the world view the U.S.?

Sad to say but my impression is a country who gets to envolved in others problems but of course that is just an impression I'm sure there are reasons and we Canadians don't hear enough of the good side. The other thing is I see the USA is a little mixed up why would they not have an all encompassing health care plan for everyone? Why should so many suffer and live in poverty? Sell your house for an operation? That just does not make sense. The sick get sicker and the poorer get poorer. Your penalized for not being healthy and just creates a downward spiral. How can someone get out?

The US??? *whimper* lol. Just kidding... okay, seriously.

It has, of course, both advantages and disadvantages like any place in the world but disadvantages slightly winnning over both in my opinion. Why? Well, when you consider the terrible and very important lack of health, strong issues about teens (again strong in other places in the world, though seeming the worst there), arrogant and spoiled thinking, etc. Now don't get me wrong though-- Americans and their country are in the top 3 of my favorite people and places in the world. They're just a really good country and thus take advantage of it. And show it a lot. So, you all just need to thoroughly go through your issues, fully understand and once and for all do something about it instead of just talking about it! The problem is is that people tend to go over what's wrong over and over again and never doing anything about it. Now, it's time to learn to act, not react.

Well, I guess the 1960's book "the Ugly Americans" pretty much sum it up.

We're loudmouth, borish, racial and sociall inept and insensitive, and opionated to the point where people consider the best American is a dead quiet American.

And I live in Seattle, Washington and have never left the states- but I have observed enough Californians to form this opinion!

They view them as rich people, mostly think of them as people with gorgeous smiles, white teeth, ok but the other things...They view them as people who think they own everything. They also think of it as the answer to become rich, (paradise) and that it's the most powerful nation.And also as people who don't know anything about hard work, and standing in lines just to get a loaf of bread, cheese and ham. Some think positive, some negative. Nothing is fair in this world.

take this seriously : look im american but i wasnt born here, other people dont really see the real u.s all they see is what the media shows, and what the government shows to other countries which are overated. i surf the intrnet and i see a lot of poeple dont like the u.s , but unless they live here they shouldnt judge too quickly , were not all rednecks , remember people from all around the world with different religions live here and we dont all discriminate

I think most of us know that like all other countries the USA has its share of intelligent and stupid people.

If I were to bundle you all together I would say that overall I regard the USA as a country that has not as yet made the distiction between politics and religion and is therefore overly influenced by those who only have their beliefs at heart and they believe that everyone else should therefore live by their beliefs.

I see a country that could have been great, but wallows about in its own blindness a lot.

I see Capitalism as the state religion.

I see the very rich living around but ignoring the very poor - like a class system.

I see you ignoring your great leaders, like Washington, Jefferson, even Martin Luther King jr.

I see you invade while talking freedom and giving slavery.

I live in China, we see America as heavy-handed, aggressive, racist. manipulated by the media and the government, self-serving, unthinking, controlled by the Japanese (US spends a billion a day in Japan) lacking work ethics, a failing economy, overwhelmed by trite issues...WTC memorial and the Katrina mess is still being squabbled about, wasteful, a major cause of pollution....should I continue about the illegals, social security, etc? In short the US is losing its image quickly.

in fact u have to make a line between US gov and US ppl .. so US ppl r normal like every body else cool cute the best and the worest on it like others countries .. so about gov that the important Q American government unfair and will manufactured problems with other nations and make the citizens feel responsibility about wars and etc..
