I wouldn't take much notice of Liverpools pre-season and last nights result. Rafa knows what he is doing. He has a very strong squad now and I'm looking forward to more progress this season.Sundays game is also irrelevant. It's getting the players fit for the real action that's more important than the result.

I am a little worried, Pre-season games are just that, they do not mean anything and are matches for fitness and new systems with the new players, but the champions league game was woefull, we did not get enough players in the box with two wingers firing balls in you really need two strikers to work with each other and Stevie did not seem to be doing this and arriving too late into the box, unfortualtey I think we have to drop either Sisosko or Alonso to play wingers and two up front or have static back three with Carragher (probably the scouser in the would) Hyppia and the new boy as we have loaned out whitbeard.

not a liverpool fan but they were as you said woeful last night. the match coming up with chelsea could prove to be a bit of a mis-match. with the season starting a week later liverpool could see themselves out of the title "race" after a couple of games and then only hoping for a top 4 finish.

Well, I have many segments to my answer:
a) We never went off to a flying start last season, and look what happened to us! Seven times FA Cup winners!!
b) I am ashamed that you think we are going to be worse than Chelsea; the Premiership table means nothing no more. Search on Yahoo! for "UEFA team rankings" and look where Liverpool are. Be proud, okay?
c) Who the ****'s Steven Gerrard??? What's he done??
d) We are Liverpool; we have indestructible history; we will never fail. But when we do, our manager must be Mick McCarthy.
Just remember that, even if we lose. And Chelsea are scum compared to us, no matter what!!!!!

We never start the season running, and it's always our undoing. we will get better as the new signings settle and combinations are formed. As for Chelsea, I think we can topple them, just like we did in the champions league when no one gave us a chance. Chelsea always choke in games they should win. That should be every game though considering their gaffer gave the owner his wish list, and got what he wanted. They will never win Europe because they lack what great clubs like Liverpool have, and that's ticker. Liverpool for ever, Chelsea, never

All the pre-season friendlies mean nothing.
We won last night, when you play nowhere near as good as you can and still win, then things are going in the right direction.

Yep! Same as last season. Defence a little ropey and the finishing lacks imagination. (Nice effort by Bellamy though)
