(night nannies arrive in the evening&take over baby night duties whilst u catch up on sleep&leave in the morning). Please only people who agree with this concept reply,i just want to know if this price is reasonable for this area, not whether havin a night nanny is a good/bad idea.

The concept is brilliant! After all, isn't that what the privileged parents do anyway when they employ nannies full time? I'd have used it had I been able to, especially with my son as he wouldn't sleep more than 1.5 hours day or night!

The rates of pay will be different as the cost of living is different, its called London weighting

I'm in devon but I work in recruitment and this sounds like a reasonable rate to me. Don't forget to get a CRB check. It is good if the employer pays for this, although in some cases the candidate would have to. However I think it is more polite for the employer to do so. They cost about £39.

I'd gladly pay £8.ph for a nights uninterrupted sleep.

Yup if I had money to waste I'd have done it!

But only if I could get refereances and police checks etc... for obvious reasons!
