In your opinion, what makes a happy marriage?

Yes, I am married. What makes our marriage a happy one is:
* Lots and lots of trust... we didn't have that for awhile and things got bad!
* Respect... you have to respect each other's thoughts and feelings, even if you don't always understand them.
* You need lots of good quality time together, but you also need to give each other a decent amount of alone time. You don't want to smother your spouse!
* I think the most important thing for us is just making sure that we have fun together... whether it's date nights, family time, or just sitting around and laughing at dumb stuff after the little one is in bed. The more we laugh together, the happier we are with each other and the easier it is to be together.

Yes, I'm married.
I think honesty and communication is a must in any happy marriage. For my husband and I, we're also best-friends and I think that is one of the best things in our marriage. And don't worry about always keeping everything so serious!
