Could be baby not developing properly. My last pregnancy, baby's heartbeat could be seen at 6w & 7w but it stopped at 8w6d and i didnt even knew it until i was bleeding. Discuss your concern with your doctor.

Well several reasons could be. At 7 weeks they can only check the heartbeat by a vaginal u/s, external u/s will not see a heartbeat, the dopplers usually don't pick up the heartbeat at 7 weeks either.

The baby could have died in utero
A heart never formed
could just be too early to spot it

For my son, we had an u/s at 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat at 8 weeks they tried to hear it, but we couldn't so we did another u/s, didn't get to hear the heartbeat until I was 12 weeks along, we could see it though on u/s.

been there done that. tHE DOCTOR TOLD me right away it did not look good at all. A heart beat should be seen by 6 weeks if the conception date is not off. I was in fertility treatment and the doc was 100% sure of the dates. We re checked in a week no more growth except the sac no heartbeat lost the pregnancy at 10 weeks. They will check again be preared it may not go well.

You dont say if you did an USound and what kind.

As mentioned above, only the vaginal US can show a heart beat at this gest.age, as early as 5 weeks.
If you did that (unless the doctor has no experience) than I am sorry to say that the embryo is dead and you will miscary soon. In this stage, it happens often, there was smthing wrong with DNA .

If you had a normal US, wait a couple more weeks.

The only way they could see a heartbeat at 7 weeks is by a vaginal ultrasound because a doppler usually cannot pick up a heartbeat until 12 weeks.

Did they look for the HB with an ultrasound machine, a doppler or a fetoscope? It's probably too early at only 7 weeks to detect it with doppler or a fetoscope, but it should appear on an ultrasound.

No reason to panic. The gestational age may be less than 7 weeks. Wait a week or 2 and give it another go.
