No water. People need lots of clean drinking water to live. The climate is inhospitable. During the day time, it gets very hot, with no protection from the sun. During the night it gets very cold. In the Sahara, the temperature can range from 110 degrees F during the day to 30 degrees F at night.
No food. Animals are few and far between. Most need lots of water to survive. Desert soil is not suitable for farming. No water. An the sand or clay soil has no nutrients.

its hot & dry!!!
I think a lot of people (including me) prefer to live in a better climate (not so hot) and like to see (green) things grow apart from a few cactusses.

hot, dry, little/no water. Can't plant in sand therefore can't farm for food.
