For example, adding an emergency question section for times when countries around the world are at Critical level (i.e the UK now). i think it would be good, people could list what they know about the event etc. Just wanted to know what you thought!

Mr Feel Young, i suggest you have a look at the BBC News website and you might see what is happening in the world today (ie we are about to be blown up via incoming aircraft)

No, it would be filled up with people who don't take it seriously and there would be false information and rumors flying around in an emergency. If you want information, watch the news or visit a several news sites.

PEOPLE SHOULD NOT USE YAHOO ANSWERS TO OBTAIN EMERGENCY INFORMATION.

People should use reliable news websites and government websites.

[Yes I am fully aware that YOU weren't trying to obtain emergency information, but you were suggesting there should be a section where other people could do so, which would not be appropriate].

Yes.
I'd love to have something like that to refer to with human and virtually immediate contact worldwide! The PROBLEM with something like that unless Yahoo monitored it closely - and imagine the man-power doing so would take - CAN YOU IMAGINE THE **** THAT WOULD BE POSTED BY THE JOKERS!

Great concept but I cannot work-out a way to control the spam and foolishness that would result.

Not a bad idea! Except there would have to be a way to screen out the messages inappropriate to such a board.

What emergency? If you were sitting near a sloshed guy about to keel over in a public library you would know what a real critical situation was like!!!

yes well if YOU had read my earlier question you would know about the whisky-sloshing guy in the library. and anyway they have arrested the people allegedly resposnsible for the alleged plot so why don't you lighten up!!!!
