I think, No. You see France and England are very different countries, they are in EU, but they are not same.
Macedonia can't easily in EU, because Greece.
But, if Macedonia become member of EU maybe communication between all Macedonians will be better.

Still many years away, unless your country can manage a healthy economy and less of your peoples travel to western Europe for work and settling down.

There remains a deep rooted suspicion by some richer European nations, eg: Germany, England and France about the influx of supposedly less wealthy nations into the Union.

Just look at the hard time, certain countries like Romania and Turkey are going through.
But if you're rich (in reources) like Ukraine, and maybe even Kazakhstan, they do their best to entice you.

Maybe being on your own ain't so bad, after many years of fighting, before finally achieving independence. Why the rush to cede part of your powers to another foreign body?

The EU is not so much a union as a congress right now. There is not much unity (except when it comes to excoriating the actions of the USA). So the idea of the EU attempting to disannex property from Greece and Bulgaria (both pretty testy nations) in order to form yet another little racist enclave does not seem real likely.
So, sorry, no.

The label "Macedonia" is not for SALE.
U don't deserve the name of "Macedonia" because u have nothing to do with Macedonia.
Macedonians were not different Nation from Greeks, and Alexandros was never a Slav.
Get your own identity and you are welcome in EUROPE.
By the way..... the Name EUROPE is GREEK...if you didn't know it.
Macedonians have a big culture like a Big tree with deep roots. and it is called GREEK CIVILISATION. One of its big roots it is called ARISTOTELIS if you didn't know.
Good to study history and not to create in a snap fairytails and make dreams which can turn into nightmares

How many times will you ask the same question? It is so obvious that it is a Slavic propaganda question and you probably seek for a propaganda answer!
(Your country of course want be able to enter European Union since it need 50 years to reach Europe's level!)
By the way your country is called Makedonija!! Not Macedonia!!
Macedonia is in Greece! How is it possible to unite a part of Greece with a backward Balkan state simply because that Balkan state is using the name Macedonia?
That’s why you will never enter European Union! Because some fanatic statement like yours compromise your country’s effort for stability!!
I think the better think is to unite the Albanians of FYROM (Slavic Macedonia or Makedonija) with Albania and the Bulgarians of FYROM (Slavic Macedonia or Makedonija) with Bulgaria! How would you like that?
After all the Albanians are the 50% of the population of FYROM (Slavic Macedonia or Makedonija) and the rest of the Slavs are mainly of Bulgarian decent!
Let me tell you that the government of FYROM (Slavic Macedonia or Makedonija) does not support those few fanatics who state unhistorical and stupid claims!
Here are some official statements in order to prevent your fanatism:
“the first President of FYROM (Slav Macedonia), Kiro Gligorov said: “We are Slavs who came to this area in the sixth century ... we are not descendants of the ancient Macedonians" (Foreign Information Service Daily Report, Eastern Europe, February 26, 1992, p. 35). Also, Mr Gligorov declared: "We are Macedonians but we are Slav Macedonians. That's who we are! We have no connection to Alexander the Greek and his Macedonia… Our ancestors came here in the 5th and 6th century" (Toronto Star, March 15, 1992).
On 22 January 1999, Ambassador of the FYROM to USA, Ljubica Achevska gave a speech on the present situation in the Balkans. In answering questions at the end of her speech Mrs. Acevshka said: "We do not claim to be descendants of Alexander the Great … Greece is Macedonia’s second largest trading partner, and its number one investor. Instead of opting for war, we have chosen the mediation of the United Nations, with talks on the ambassadorial level under Mr. Vance and Mr. Nemitz." In reply to another question about the ethnic origin of the people of FYROM, Ambassador Achevska stated that "we are Slavs and we speak a Slav language”.
On 24 February 1999, in an interview with the Ottawa Citizen, Gyordan Veselinov, FYROM'S Ambassador to Canada, admitted, "We are not related to the northern Greeks who produced leaders like Philip and Alexander the Great. We are a Slav people and our language is closely related to Bulgarian." He also commented, “There is some confusion about the identity of the people of my country".
Moreover, the Foreign Minister of the FYROM, Slobodan Casule, in an interview to Utrinski Vesnik of Skopje on December 29, 2001, said that he mentioned to the Foreign Minister of Bulgaria, Solomon Pasi, that they "belong to the same Slav people.”
