100% disagree. It's the best comedy show that's been on television in the last 15 years. The writing is consistently superb and there's not many shows you can say that about, especially as its been on television for 16 years now.
The creator of the Simpsons got a standing ovation at the British Comedy Awards, so that tells you what those in the industry think of it.
What I like most about it is that it's a cartoon, so kids can watch it, but there are all kinds of subtle, subversive jokes in there that go right over the kids heads. I can't believe some of the jokes they've gotten away with on that show. Oh and for the Halloween Specials alone, the makers will go directly to Heaven. Brilliant.

You are intitled to your opinion but I have to disagree with you. I have grown up watching the Simpsons and watching it now reminds me of my childhood.
Matt Groening does have plans to stop making it, however that won't be for a few more years yet. Not sure if its true but I heard his plan is to end the show after 365 episodes so that there will be one Simpsons episode for every day of the year!

The Simpsons was good when it first came out. After South Park, though, it seems tame and kinda dorky.
I still like the theme song, though.

I'm sure others agree with you, but I am not one of them. Its clever and sometimes subtle humor is often missed by those with closed minds. To say its not funny would mean you have different tastes. However you said GARBAGE which is you insulting something you merely don't GET. I don't read the bible. I don't believe the bible, but I wouldn't feel right calling it GARBAGE just because I don't. Just an example.

When the show got to about 6 or 7 years of its time, it peaked and the shows were the best. But after then ,and since the new epsiodes have come in, it really is stupid.
Too many new characters, to many settings, to many 'unreal' events, killing off characters, making Barney Sober!!! Yikes...
the show needs to end now - its had over 10 years of popularity, but the longer it goes on, the worse its gonna get

NO!!! I love the Simpson's. They're funny, irreverent, and intelligent. I even did a paper on the Simpson's in college.
Watch them sometime, you might change your mind.

I love it! Got 15+ videos of Simpson's episodes. It is the 4th most watched TV show on the global scale* but I know people who hate it.

Your independence of thinking is interesting since 99.99% of people in the known Universe think the Simpsons is one of the best things on TV. Including me. Bet you didn't like South Park either did you?

I think the Simpsons are one of the best and entertaining shows on tv.really interesting to see how each story unfolds.and also the simpson kids were voted no1 on e entertainment for cutest kids on television.but im sure maybe watching teletubbies is more your speed!?
