Probably the easiest way would be to work for a smaller chain, or a one-off shop. You can then get some experience merchandising, and perhaps parlay that into a job with a larger employer. Although you should know, many people study this in school, and its a competitive field. Having a degree would certainly help. It doesn't have to be a bachelor's, though - an associates or even a certificate would be helpful.

What you mean is how can you become an assistant in a clothes shop, so why didn't you say so? Just go to the shops and tell them how brilliant you are - they'll fall over themselves to employ you

work your way up within a retail chain that you are very comfortable with and/or get a diploma or associates degree in fashion or design.
