Can it ever recaptured?

The loss of innocence is permanent. How can you not be aware of what you know? The loss of innocence is getting younger, too. Our children are our last natural resource, and look at what's happening to them.

I'd say the closest to recapturing innocence would be alzheimers - I know it sounds like a terrible thing to say, but the loss of your mind can make you oblivious to the bad things occurring around you.

Remember the time when your most important decision was whether to buy sweets or crisps? Or what to play with next? I do, and I miss it. As you get older, things start to affect you more, your own worries such as money, health, kids etc... and things going on in the world, such as famine, wars, natural disasters and so on...

Growing up and losing that innocence is a painful jolt into the real world, and that innocence which is ignorant bliss will never exist in you again.

I wrote a short poem about losing innocence, enjoy!:

Imagine a world where mermaids can't swim,
Where unicorns are horses in disguise,
And angels do not sing,
Imagine leaving innocence behind,
Imagine life in an adult's mind.

I wrote it for my little sis - who is growing up way too fast!

recaptured? no, once a person learns the truth about the real world, the naivete is gone forever. a person had 2 choices after that:
1) to be bitter and angry or
2)be accepting and at peace with the world.

Not if you start becoming more stupid

Innocence stops when you start being smart. Its painful to say but trusting anybody is dangerous and losing innocence is a form of self defense.

What doesnt kill you makes you stronger the saying goes.
