Its a guesstimate, give or take 5 days. There is no exact science. Trust me one week isn't going to make a difference in the end. That baby will come when its ready. You may only carry for 38 weeks or you may carry for 42 weeks.
The first day of my LMP was on May 8th which indicates by the charts my due date is 2/12, but the ultrasound measured the fetus to be 9.5 weeks and a due date of 2/19. Exactly 1 week difference. But who knows when little piglet will make his/her entry into the world.
Trust me with each week comes new and exciting experiences and stresses. Wondering over conception date will become a thing of the past. As you are bombarded with new wonders and worries.

I always say count back 3 months from the first day of your last period and add a week.. that's your due date..
BUT if you know for sure you didn't have any sex unitl July 4th.. then go by that as a conception date... otheriwse if you had sex at all AFTER June 20 then it is anywhere between there and July 4th you concieved... so your baby (if you had sex right after une 20th) could be born between March 13th - March 27th.. (Concieving on the 25th would make you in your 8th week now it is possible that is what your dr. is going by)
You will find out for sure with the measurements of your baby in your first unltrasound..

It's no issue really. If you don't have regular 28 day cycles and you O'd later than CD15, than you can have a different due date. For me I know the exact day I O'd and my doctor's office went by my LMP. I had a 6 week u/s and since I am within a week, they kept the due date based off of LMP. My due date to the doctor is October 4th, to me it's actually Oct 9th, but we will be delivering in Sept anyway.
Due Dates are just an estimate, you may go earlier or later than that day, so don't rely on it too much. Your within a week so no biggie.

Your conception date could be off a bit. Dont forget that sperm can live inside a woman's body for several days (72 hours), so the day you had intercourse isn't necessarily the day you became pregnant. Either way, it's only a week - I would go with what the doc says and enjoy the ride. Good luck!
