I am going to expand my question by asking how you would combine the american government with any other one to make it better.

Both work extremely well. And yes look at the Swiss (I personally admire them)Mandatory military service for all males, Take your weapon home after active duty, reserve service till 45. The Swiss believe that the way to Peace is to be prepared for war.(Quote from a Swiss general)During WWII the Swiss had 20% of their population mobilized and ready to fight. The largest % of a countries population called to duty in their armed forces of any in the world. Wouldn't the anti-war folks here howl if they had to join the military

As a fellow US citizen, I share your frustration. Certainly, our system is broken. The British Parlimentary system has advantages, specifically, if the ruling party screws up too badly, the minorty can force an election. The problem, of course, can be seen in Italy where elections have been held as often as annually.

Perhaps a hybrid of some sort? Many years ago the Rand Corp published a paper suggesting a system whereby we each voted by computer with PIN number and could change that vote at any time during the office holders term of office. If enough of us removed our vote from A and moved it to B, A could be removed and B installed in office.

As a minimum, I believe that we need Federal Term Limits. How about a lifetime total of 16 years in elected Federal office?

That's probably why King george lost for Britain what was America. Two groups of people separated by the same language.
The american system is more glorifying for an individual and response better to crisis. The british system is better for long term policies and requires a smoother politican to claim the top post unlike the american system(just compare what bush and blair did for a living before they hold the top post and academic results). The brits' system require someone to con all the conmen before they can be the leader of the pack where the american system only require lots of money, some background, and a face public enough to con the average joe and jane of their votes.

I have studied American government and law in detail (I'm an American), and I think our system works very well. Other nations have copied it.

I don't know as much about the British system. Many nations have their parliamentary system too.

Some people - British, American and others - just post snide answers no matter what.

I think everyone wants to think they are right. Many People sadly think that if you don't believe your system of government is working, you are not patriotic. But the government isn't the country, the people are. If we ever got fed up with our government, we would start a revolution. I think that Brit sounds kinda like a bullheaded American.

Look at the leaders of both countries. There's not a "right' one in the bunch. Both losers, crazy and dangerous people.

When you ask a biased question , your credibility is destroyed. You don't seek info so much as to put forth your twisted view.
