I'm still a virgin.
I'm afraid the frenulum is too short as the foreskin cannot be fully retracted and is "stuck" behind the penis head.

I am uncircumsized. Also, I am asking whether the foreskin is SUPPOSED to automatically retract during the course of erection.

If you have too much skin, it is not supposed to get retracted automatically and you wont see the head. Also if you pull it back it will get stuck behind.
You need a good lubricant like k-y. you must retract it everyday in order to clean it otherwise it will not retract and will get tight.
If you ar enot having pain its fine.... if it hurts to retract it fully when hard try this:
Before bed, Apply a good body oil (baby oil) or coco butter (non perfumed) for sensitive skin. Apply lots of it. even inside. if its runny saturate cotton pad in the oil or butter and cover your penis with it. Cover in cling film. (not tightly but quite intact).
It will feel soft and more elastic so you can pull it back. Apply moisturiser after bath/shower.
Also after covering in cling film apply a hot towel.
Also, you can tie some oats in a thin cloth and leave it in a glass of hot water for a couple of hours. Apply this water after bath to your penis skin. Great for skin all over.

ok if your reffering to a short frenulum you might want to look at frenulum breve. im assumin when you retract your foreskin your head points downward because the frenulum bring it downward.

foreskin coverage all depends on the person foreskin probably retracts on those that dont have alot of foreskin short foreskins. Those with longer ones probably have to retract it because there is more to work with. I wouldnt worry about the frenulum im sure its ok I dont really know what you mean by foreskin stuck at the penis head. I would say take pics but it would offend you or whom ever.

Well, since the skin is stretched during an erection, it is possible that it would take a while for it to retract back into place. I've never heard of that, but it is possible. I would say no to worry about it. The skin is very flexible, and will go back to it's shape

If it is painful, the circumcision maybe be needed, but it would seem that everything is normal...the amount of foreskin is not important as it both stimulate you and a sex partner.

What that sounds like is a "skin bridge." A circumcision would help or just get a doctor to cut the bridge and you'll be fine.

You will have a fully exposed head if you decided to be circumcised.

as long as it doesn't interfer with the function of urination or stop you from performing, not to worry, however you might want to see a doctor to get circumcised.

I don't understand your problem. Is it a pain you're complaining about or aesthetics?
If it's the first, go to a doctor (it's less scary than you think). If it's the second, man.....CHILL !!
