If you really are a bond trader then hopefully I suppose you are smart enough to grasp the following.

"Do what you will shall be the whole law" can be interpreted two ways: - either as

"Do What You Will" shall be the whole law (an attractive but ultimately disastrous motto if it means "Do whatever you like" shall be the whole law)

Or as an incomplete misquote of Immanuel Kant's 'Categorical Imperative', his main moral rule for deciding on your own moral rules.

What Kant's rule means is that you should follow only those moral rules that you would have everyone follow.

It's a version of the Golden Rule: 'Behave towards others the way you would have others behave towards you.'

Do what you will shall be the whole [moral] law.

The Marquis De Sade said this, I believe. (The guy who "invented" Sadism.)

It was either him, or somebody at the head of a satanic cult. Memory fails. Something about basically being hedonistic and doing whatever you want to do all the time.

In answer to the implied question, yes, it sure would be great if we could get away with it.

It sounds a little like Wicca, but it finishes by saying - "so long as you hurt no one" - I could be wrong and I do not mean to insult Wiccans by saying this.

Hopefully, you may get some answers that put further light on this phrase.

It shall be sentenced in one short word :

"FREEDOM !"

freedom to make the right for you and others descisions .

Well - this can not be achieved in present world ...
becouse of "BAD PEOPLE FACTOR"
well - they are the only problem on this planet ...
anyway - as i love to say - "Our world shall not be so colorfull if there was only good."
