You will undoubtedly also have spyware, get any of these you dont have, I use them all.
Antiviral. (free)

AVG free. Excellent protection available from: http://www.Grisoft.com

Don't use two antiviral products together as they may be incompatible. If your Antiviral trial has run out, then remove product from your computer and get the AVG installed.

Anti-spyware (all free)

Essential products are: Adaware SE from: http://www.lavasoft.com

Spybot SD http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html

Spywareblaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Windows Defender - from Microsoft downloads.

Update your browser. Internet explorer blocks a lot, and Mozilla Firefox (free) does a great job with pop ups. You may have to check your browser settings.
You may also want to scan your computer for spyware - get something like Adaware (free).

I would suggest Ad-aware as well as Spybot - Search and Destroy to eradicate those pop ups first.
You might want to have google.com toolbar which I find really effective in stopping pop ups.
