I'm not saying that the foiled highjacking plan was made up, but don't you think that it would have united the people in both those countries in favor of the war? IMHO I think at would have been very stupid for Iran and Syria to do. Granted, there would have been some liberals screaming that it was our fault because of Iraq, but believe most would get pissed again like after the World Trade Center bombings. What say you?

Yes.
They want us to feel constant fear. They also want us to react more. With our reaction we reinforce their arguments. It is a successful strategy,
But in the end, they wont win. Ideology is not enough to win wars. Hitler proved that. Sure it will help them win battles but when the rest of the world gets together to fight this, they will lose.
The only way for us to win, is to kill them all. I wish there was a better way, but there isn't.

I bet I am pretty thankful that I live miles away from anything that might be of interest to anybody, yeah, I am pretty sure that there are people plotting and planning right now and just waiting, I would bet money on it

As long as we are so divided politically it would do their cause more harm than good to attack now.
They want to keep us divided and fighting amongst ourselves.Another attempt would serve only to bring the country together and get more aggressive in our dealing with them.
Example: Israel/Hezbollah
