No, so long as living creatures require certain things, have a will to survive, differ in nature and grow in number.

Humans created this idea, but most have no clue what it means or what it would lead to. Don't forget, we are still animals. World Peace usually is in reference to war. However, simply eliminating war, wouldn't result in world peace. Many people striving for world peace, are also ironically, pro-choice. That's an odd combo, so you're against killing in war, including terrorists, but killing a fetus is OK? China had to impose a "one child only" law. Chinese couples that wanted their one child to be a boy, but had a girl instead, often kill or abandon them. China now has 20 males for every female. Ever been to a party having similar m/f ratio, they're anything but peaceful.
We have cars, boats, planes, trains, motorcycles, etc. Neither man nor man made machines are perfect. Fatal accidents aren't very peaceful for the victims, their families or those who caused the accident.
World peace would require everyone to think the same, act the same, talk the same or not at all, eat the same, work the same job, have the same possessions, eliminate everything competitive, including: sports, tests, games, positions of power, make no decisions, make no objections. Even worse, become completely emotionless, No more hate, fear, greed, jealousy, compassion, joy, creativity, excitement, no more Love, no desire to live... It's impossible, but if we do get there, it just might be the end of the human race.
World War II, was supposed to be the "war to end all wars".
Wars occur for certain reasons, usually based on human emotions, right or wrong. You have something I want or need, I want to take it from you, you'll fight me to keep it. It could be loved ones, land, resources, money, power, freedom, anything worth having. As the World population grows, so grows the need for the essentials, food-fresh water-space-etc. As Humans use more and more, other species get less and less.

Do you think the lions, tigers, crocodiles, bears, sharks, mosquito's, etc... will go along with the whole "world peace" thing? They just want to survive.
We know peace, because we know war. We know good times because of bad times. Agreement/Disagreement. Right/wrong Love/hate, Life/Death.

No! The Governments and Corporate/Defense Companies will never allow that. No claims for funds to conduct 'research and development' (which they used for other things). All industries related to 'defense' will have to close. No more by-products discovered in the process of developing the military items etc
