The Timberwolves organization has repeatedly said that KG isn't going anywhere unless hte name's Kobe or LeBron. Why do people keep thinking that KG will go to Cleveland or LA and become a dynamic duo with their stars? Neither teams have anything to give in exchange for KG (except their stars) and don't have the money as well.

That's a very good question. My guess is that people feel for K.G. and all the sacrifices he has done for the wolves. They feel that if they were him they would want to be moved to a team that can contend for a championship. But K.G. is the real deal, a loyal team player who's ready to wait for his team to get better even though he is already 30 years old. Even though they still need a good center, the addition of Foye and Mike James might be what they needed to at least make the playoff this year.

Quite simply because it makes for a good news story. People feel that trading KG at this point in time makes sense for a lot of reasons, such as the inability to build a championship team around him in Minnesota, the fact that his trade value is pretty high at this point, and the fact that he should be frustrated by recent years and want to get out of Minnesota.

However, it doesn't seem like the Timberwolves or even KG agree with this speculation. KG isn't demanding a trade (yet) and Minnesota doesn't seem to want to trade him. However, to have a superstar as a potential trade makes for a great story and great water cooler discussion. I think people will continue to repeat this rumor until it actually becomes true a year or so from now.

The rumors are still there because people just want to believe it could happen. It's exciting to have trades happen, let alone trades involving one of the top five players in the league. It's always fun to speculate and the media, as well as the general population will always make things out to be more than they are. Most times these huge trades don't happen save the Shaq deal a couple a years ago. The blockbuster trades that do seem to happen are the ones no one hears about. Everyone remember the Ray Allen for Gary Payton deal a few years back, or how about the Jason Kidd for Stephon Marbury deal?

i agree that the lakers or the cavs have anything to return for a star like kg but the clippers have alot of young talent and picks. KG wants and needs to win minnesota does not want to win or they would build around him. i think it would be good for kg and the league for him to move

i think it's all because of the excitment of the off season. people wants to hear big news, and they want to wander, what will happen if.... like when tmac moved to houston...everyone was excited. or when shaq moved to miami...they want to see what will happen if kg teams up with (you name your superstar here)....me personally, i want kg to win a ring. i want to see him playing side by side with another superstar. maybe lebron, or kidd, or td, or anybody, as long as they can share the ball between them.
