Definition of Terms:
Credit Hours - the hours assigned to a course, this number is listed in both the schedule of classes and the catalog and is usually 1 to 5 hours.
Grade Value - the numerical value assigned to a grade; A = 4 points, B = 3 points, C = 2 points, D = 1 point, and F = 0 points.
Grade Points - number of credit hours for a course times the grade value.
Attempted Hours - credit hours for which you earn a grade in (excluding I's , P/NP, or W's); note: WF is the same grade as an F and counts in attempted hours.
Earned Hours - credit hours that you passed (with a grade of D or higher).
Redlining of Course - when a course in which you received a substandard grade is taken for a second time and indicated on your transcript. The first grade will then be excluded from your g.p.a.
Repeat - when the course in which you received a substandard grade is repeated, beyond the redlining of a course limit, all non-redline attempts of the course are counted in the g.p.a, regardless of the grade earned in the course.

You need to find out how much each grade is worth. For example, is B+ 3.33 or 3.5?

Once you know that, multiply the grade's numeric value by the number of credits the class was worth for each class to get your total grade points (for example, if a B is 3.00, for a 4 credit class, that's worth 12.00 grade points). Add up all your grade points then divide by the total number of credits. That is your GPA.

For a B 3 credit and A 4 credit, you have
B = 3.00 * 3 = 9
A = 4.00 * 4 = 16
9+16= 25/7credits = 3.57 GPA

The letter grades should have a point total A=4.0 B=3.0 etc. Add up the point totals for the grades you recieved and divide by the total number of credits.

Simple go ask for a copy of your transcripts. Its right there on it and most colleges will give them to you for free.
