I've made many lampshades out of paper and my first three or four were eventually ruined by the heat of the bulb. My last ones, however, have proved to be really endurable - one gets better with regular practice:) It really depends on the form of the lampshade and on the type of bulb you use.

I bet megadisc has never made a lampshade out of paper!

the paper is made out of a heat resistant product which enables it to

withstand heat of up to 100 celcius,,, before it reaches total combustion.
