This might sound really stupid to some of you, and don't comment with your opinion.

The child was "concieved" on my birthday, so on my fiancees birthday, I would like to find out the sex of the baby, if at all possible.

Which is at 17 weeks. I have asked some people I know and they say it is possible.

What are the chances of finding out at 17 weeks?

It is possible, but not completely reliable.

Most doctors prefer you to wait until 20 weeks because that is when they check other things and the babies anatomy. However, you could mention it to your doctor and maybe they could.

If not, you could maybe pay for one at 17 weeks....I think they can be anywhere from 50-200$, and unfortunatly insurance companies/medical card won't pay for ultrasounds that the doctor doesnt order.

The doctor will say that it's ideal to look and see at 20 weeks b/c the baby is big enough that it can be seen easily, but not so big that it's blocked. Past 20 weeks it's hard to tell b/c the baby is too big. But a little before is fine. I found out I was having a boy at 16 weeks....and I did indeed have a son, so yes it's very possible.

Not sure how to answer without giving my opinion on this, sorry!

But I think it is possible, but I'd recommend asking the doctor's office that schedules the ultrasound.

I think I was able to find out at 18 weeks, but not sure about 17 (the longer you wait, the better chance of them finding out). That is, if the baby is laying the right way.

If your fiance is excited about the baby, could you have the ultrasound scheduled so he can see the ultrasound for himself. It's pretty neat to be able to see the baby in utero even for the daddy!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

you can only find out after 20 weeks thats when you will have a scan to check the baby is developing properly and stuff, you can ask then but they cant always tell you so dont be dissapointed if you dont even get an answer. also you can not request a scan so you wont be able to have one at 17 weeks, onlky if there is a problem with your pregnancy.

i found out at 17 weeks that we've been having a toddler boy. of direction, toddler does ought to cooperate and open those legs. Our ultrasound tech pronounced that toddler boys are with one hundred% certainty yet toddler females she can in basic terms say with eighty% certainty (by using fact it rather is achieveable that a toddler boy tucks his penis below and sounds like a woman in the process the ultrasound). An ultrasound in direction of the top of being pregnant may additionally confirm regardless of if that's a toddler. My sister replaced into instructed she replaced into having a woman descendant (eighty% specific) whilst she replaced into 20 weeks pregnant. At 35 weeks, she replaced into instructed with one hundred% certainty that she replaced into having a woman descendant by using fact they might see the toddler's uterus and ovaries. Congratulations!

my fiance in 15 weeks and we found out that we are having a little girl. so yes it is possible, but the only thing is that you have to have a good shot of the baby in order to tell which sex it will be. we got lucky and got a shot of the baby's butt so we were able to tell, just go and get an ultrasound (3/4D or regular) and see if you can get a good enought shot.

The gender of the baby is developed by 16 weeks but because a males testicles may not have full dropped down you may want to do another ultrasound later to be sure..

I have 8 children (6 by birth). With all six, I found the sex out by 20 weeks. Even with my twins, who supposedly mature more slowly. I think the chances of finding out are very good. CONGRATULATIONS!
