Am I the only one who thinks that Big Brother & Love Island along with all these other reality tv shows, is a poor excuse to get on the tv whether your famous or not. Or if they were famous at one stage & they aren't now maybe it was because their career was pointless in the first place. And they do this just to see whether or not they still ogt what it takes or to see wether there manager etc... will take them back on.

Sure they get paid to entertain us, but that is besides the point, some of them are rude, self righteous & full of themselves, and I wouldn't eat bugs/creepy crawlies or even pet a snake for all the money in the world.

If I acted like that anywhere whether it be at home or at school I would have had a hammering and been told to grow up.

On some level I agree with Blair they are a waste of space and all they want is to be on tv whether famous or not.

In my opinion it is awaste of the tax payers money and a waste of effort going to my local post office to pay my tv licence. What is the world coming to?

If I wanted to see reality tv all I would have to do is open my front door look up and down the street, and/or go to work and look around my office.

There is always something going on in the real world and I don't have to pay for that sort of entertainment.

Their fame is essentially no different, and no less earned, than that of many actors. They auditioned for a part and were chosen to play it, even if it's an improvisational one. In addition, they have to think, strategize and win the game, both by their acting and their wits. Sure, luck plays a part, as it does with any acting job.

But the shows themselves are no more or less boring than most of the sitcoms and soap operas that also confer fame on audience favorites.

Both a waste of space

They started as a good insight to how we interact, but after just the second, possibly the first, series of each people saw it as a way to become famous and earn some quick bux. It therefore ceased to be the "experiment" it was designed for.

Maybe your right, but they still get a tremendous amount of viewers especially big brother. Everyone has different viewing tastes, we're not all the same so of course millions will hate them and millions will love them. Anyway from my experience people are often as spoilt, bitchy and attention seeking in real life so it is reality in alot of ways...sadly

It's a poor excuse to get Z-list celebs onto the TV, it's cheap television pandering to the lowest common denominator viewer (Heat magazine readers).

its cheap tv, were no-marks have a chance to be famous because they are brilliant!

We live in a world were to become a celeb is a bona-fide ambition. I suppose Andy Warhol is to blame when he said that oneday everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.

Both provide only the opportunity to villify and make base assumptions about strangers.

They encourage bigotry.
