can anyone give us an insight as to the sort of things that you can do in SD. hoping to be living out there by may and would like to know more about the night life, scenery, people sights etc. we have never been to america, but we are hoping to have as much fun in SD as we have had in london england. thanks dj and kelly

A while since I lived there but: Hillcrest for a bohemian community centred round the gay scene and SD State Uni. La Jolla for a gorgeous little bay and shops you can't afford (also a decent art cinema if it's still there). The zoo is among the best in the world and Seaworld is the original. A couple of trips to Mexico would be good, Tijuana is just bizarre commercial mexico, but a trip a little further to Rosarito Beach or Ensenada gives you a slightly better feel of mexico. Old Town is pretty cool and the margaritas at the main restaurant are outstanding. Pacific Beach - there used to be an excellent ice-cream soda hut on either Grand or Garnet Ave. Gaslight quarter downtown is good. And don't miss a trip over to the big hotel on Coronado island where much of Some Like It Hot was filmed. Honestly, enjoy it, it's a great place. Baseball season will have started and it's worth trying to get to a game even if you're not sports fans. Dunno how good the Padres are at the moment, when i was there, they won their league.

There's lot of things to do in SD, you can either cross the border to Mexico (Tijuana) or visit the ff.:
1) San Diego Zoo (you'll need a few days)
2) Balboa Park
3) Disneyland
4) Los Angeles

Definately visit the San Diego Zoo. i might additionally advise Sea international, Balboa Park and its many museums, previous city. in case you're making plans a visit, attempt looking while a play/musical is going to be ib city. it rather is everywhere around city like the previous Globe or Civic Theatre.
