I may possibly be pregnant and I was just wondering what anyone thought my chances would be of having twins? Twins run in my family and I am an identical twin.
My grandfather/half-uncles/ &
uncles are alllllllll twins! That's 3 generations of twins in a row So, what are my chances?

Sadly, identical twins are not genetic. So that does not actually increase your chances. And it's passed on through the maternal side. Genetic incidences of twins occur if the gene for hyper-ovulation is passed on. In other words, if your mother or her mother had given birth to fraternal twins, etc, then the gene for hyperovulation might be present. If not, you have the same chances as anyone else of your race. Different races have different chances of twins, African Americans rating amongst the top while Asians are stuck at the bottom of the barrel on this one. Are your half-uncles same mother but different fathers? Moreover, are they on your mother's side? If it's from your grandmother on your mom's side you do have a slightly higher chance of it being genetic. Just remember: twins run in the women, and only they can pass down the gene.

approximately 3% of births are twins. Fraternal twins could be genetically related, despite the fact that it in elementary terms fairly will enhance the possibility if there are twins on the mummy's facet of the family members. the clarification at the back of it extremely is that the genetic link is expounded to hyper-ovulation. considering the fact that in elementary terms the female has the skill to ovulate greater desirable than one egg at a time, any background of twins on the dad's facet of the family members has no connection to an larger threat. comparable twins don't have an important genetic link and commonly speaking all pregnancies have the comparable threat of being comparable twins. considering the fact that your husband has a background of twins on his facet of the family members, in case you have any daughters than their threat of having twins would be fairly greater desirable as a results of fact the gene for hyper-ovulation could be handed to them. it extremely is one in all the excuses that it extremely is each and every each and every now and then mistakenly mentioned that twins pass a era. the guy does confirm the intercourse, yet an larger threat of twins is basically contemporary if the mummy has twins on her facet of the family members.
