Hi well we go to spain every yr you need to be very careful with the drinking water in spain, never drink out off the tap you will certainly get a stomach upset especially your daughter and she is young.Bottled water in spain is very cheap you can also use this for the ketttle too as well as drinking normal, also dont have no ice in your drinks as this ice is not mad from bottle water.Apart from that everything will be fine, maguluf is great, nice food, the spanish are very friendly too,you will all have a great time,oh yes dont forget to get a very high factor sun cream too for your daughter, have a lovely time.

Spanish tap water is perfectly safe to drink but lacks the minerals that you get in some areas in Britain. Bottled water is always an option and it comes quite cheap in Spain.

Make sure she's covered in very high factor sun protection and wears a hat all the time that she's outside. Keep her cool.

Where do you think you are going????

I live in Spain and in fact have just had a glass of water from the tap. The people who say don't drink it have NO clue what they are talking about.
The only reason people here drink bottled water is that it has more minerals.

When I go to Britain can I drink the tap water there, or do I have to buy bottled Scottish water?

The tap water is ok to drink, but for a baby that age, it is better to give her pure mineral water to drink and.make her formula with it also.
One of the best brands is SOLAN DE CABRAS (it is a dark blue bottle with a yellow top...reccomended for babys bottle). FONTVELLA is also good.
Remember the advice in all the other answers...especially about the sun...This year is EXTREMELY hot, more so than usual!
Have a pleasant holiday!

The tap water in Spain is clean but as it contains different minerals to water in the UK it can cause stomach upsets. Bottled water is very cheap and is probably best just to be on the safe side.

It's Spain, not Mexico. I went to Ibiza and drank the water but if you are really worried then there is tons of bottled water. It is also possible to by small travel water purifiers at good sporting goods stores.

lots of ice poles and lollys will keep her happy, just be careful dont give her ice cubes or local water, always have a bottle handy and maybe even a wee spray bottle to cool her down. she will probably spend a lot of time sleeping as the heat takes it right out of them when so young, another good buy is the coloured sunblock sticks as you know were it is on her. happy holidays.

actualy caz we do have a clue, water abroad can contain other minerals which our stomachs are not used to, and for a one year old it is certainly advisable not to drink it, unless you want your child to end up in hospital. i have drank the water in many countries and i am always ok, however i do not let my daughter drink straight from the tap or unsterilised ok.

Bottled water only. No ice cubes in drinks. Keep her out of the sun between 11am and 4pm. Lots of high factor sun cream. T shirts on at all times. Take plenty of swim nappies. Don't forget her favourite toy or teddy. And have fun!

You will be asked to taste the food and drink some of the water as a precaution. You will be given a plastic bag for your hand luggage and some items you will not be able to take. Please watch the news as they are more informative. I watch Sky hope you have it.
