California can be nuke free if the people will protest against establishments of nuclear power plants or weapons within the state.

What does nuke-free mean? Weapons? Power plants?

In the spirit of things, I'll try to answer and say nuclear is not all bad. Yes, the University of California has historically worked on weapons, and left-wing psychos tend to jump all over that, without stopping to think that maybe the research happening these days is being used towards more efficient power plants, plants that can generate more electrical energy with less thermal pollution. Nuclear energy is a potentially clean, almost infinite source; it has made a huge comeback and with a few more years of work, can become mainstream (this is already the case in a lot of Europe), reducing global warming and dependence on foreign oil. What's so bad about that?

nation of california? to my knowledge it is still a state... Since they are a state they have to abide by federal laws, so a nuke free zone really isn't likely.
