At first I thought Snape was a double agent on the side of "you know who" but then I re-read book 6 & I have come to believe that Snape was acting under orders from the same person he was supposed to have killed.
I hope that Dumbledore well make a miraculous return in book 7 but yes I believe he is dead.
At this point I am still unsure what the initials RAB stand for.

I am with Sandie on the Snape thing. Besides, it's hard to be a good guy when your reputation precedes you. It's hard to be a good guy when you've been bad for so long. Too many clues indicate that he is a good guy in disguise. The Phoenix theory is an interesting one as well.
I think RAB could be one of the wizards that have disappeared since the 5th book. RAB could be an acronym for something. The letters were all in caps[when read in the book] which is a clue within itself. We assumed that it was initials for someone. Who else wanted to destroy voldemort besides dumbledore?

I think it will be revealed that Snape is a good character but he will probably be martyred in the end. I think Dumbledore did die but his companion is Fawkes the Phoenix, his patronus is a phoenix (per JK Rowling on her site), and he heads the Order of the Phoenix...what do phoenixes do? they rise from their ashes and come back from death...and I think Dumbledore will be back. RAB? Some have said Regulus Black, Serius' brother, but I have no idea.

RAB is Regulus Black he is brother of Sirius black. Dumbledore is dead. JKR said that he is dead. Snape is a typical character in the series. he tries to save harry but harry thinks that he is still working for voldemort even though he is in the order.
