i need help with a trutech dvd-r?

i am trying to record from one DVD to another and for some reason, the dvd-r randomly switches from 'record' to 'pause' totaly at random! the dvd i got is not copy-protected, and there is nothing wrong with my conections.

i've had alot of trouble with the trutech dvd-r, and they offer NO HELP OR SUPPORT of any kind.

any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

the main problem is compatiblity of the disc n the recorder.sometimes is the quality of disc.try to use maxell disc that has less compliant.
