However it isn't true that the guy was a recluse as he didn't withdraw from the world to live in solitude but he is just doing a job. In my case it was one week on one week off.
People who deliver food to him often go in and hang about for a while and sometimes days. Often people visit him without bringing him any food supplies but to cook fish drink beer smoke joints and play guitar.

The guy was in charge of a lighthouse.
